Exploring New Worlds

happy to post here this vid i got from YouTube again. it's from the animation Aladdin. this was shown in the early 90's and i really, really liked this song. i think i watched this movie thrice in one week. and on three different cinemas. like... really! it's true.

discovered vastly different horizons since then and explored worlds so different from the one i knew. learned to appreciate various perspectives, multi-cultural environments, and God's immense love through  a number of diverse yet unique individuals.

Spook's in the House

with Halloween just around the corner, i'm going through a list of movies that would be worth movie-marathoning over the holidays. and one such movie on my list is Casper. migosh, how i love this movie which was shown back in the 90's when i was still in university. made me cry. i vaguely remember watching it over again with good friends and cs sisses, tearjerker that it was to us then.

and i love one song on its soundtrack, Jordan Hill's 'Remember Me This Way'. though it's kind of a sad song. but a good song for friends soon to part ways after college. whatever path we chose to follow, wherever life has taken us, i always believe in my heart that my friends would remember me just as i was and always have been.

on another note, the song really seems to be by a ghost, or a spirit rather. we have loved ones who are already gone and i think they would want to say that they want to be remembered as well; that they are always by our side, watching over us and cheering us on in every adventure that we take. and that they will never leave.. as long as we believe.

huwattt? never leave?!! ... spooky!!!....   (hehe... happy halloween!)

posting here the song:

by the way, my kuya has become obsessed with fishes these days. haha.. we now have an aquarium in the house. there were only three kinds of fishes at first. the aquarium looked really sparse with nothing else swimming there. but the loaches needed something in which to burrow into or hide in. we couldn't find any old toy of my niece that could get wet and fit right there. so i offered my ghoulish candle holder that i would usually take out for decoration during halloween.

here he is at first on the sparsely populated tank:

now here he is after plants, sand and more fishes have been added to the aquarium:

still he smiles. Casper really is a friendly ghost!

The Good Seed

Today's Gospel is about the parable of the weeds in the field. The seed is the word of God, Christ is the sower; all who come to Him will live forever.

Here's another fave song of mine that i love singing in church:

Moving On

hah! the long wait starts....

i just feel that it's true what they say, "when God closes a door, He opens a window." i know there's always something to look forward to. here's one of my most loved songs.

Move On

...They say a restles body can hide a peaceful soul.
A voyager, and a settler, they both have a distant goal.
If I explore the heavens, or if I search inside.
Well, it really doesn't matter
as long as I can tell myself
I've always tried....

Like a roller in the ocean, life is motion
Move on
Like a wind that's always blowing, life is flowing
Move on
Like the sunrise in the morning, life is dawning
Move on
How I treasure every minute
Being part of, being in it
With the urge to move on.

I've travelled every country, I've travelled in my mind
It seems we're on a journey, a trip through space and time
And somewhere lies the answer
To all the questions why
What really makes the difference
Between all dead and living things
Is the will to stay alive.

The morning breeze that ripples the surface of the sea
The crying of the seagulls that hover over me
I see it and I hear it
But how can I explain
The wonder of the moment
To be alive, and feel the sun that follows every rain.

these words are so meant for me- the wanderer, the one who keeps on moving. it seems that the songs i've loved since childhood have certain truths that keep ringing even now that i'm grown up already. Truly the grace of God never ceases to amaze me.

A Very Special Love

wala lang... trip, trip lang. bigla akong nag-crave magkaroon ng Magic Sing. di naman kasingganda ng boses ni tikz ang boses ko, pero para akong hibang na gustong gusto magkaroon nito.

a certain song keeps playing in my head. looked it up in the song list. sadly however, it wasn't there. sayang! but anyway, i'm posting the lyrics here. have been nagging everyone at the lab if they knew the lyrics of the song. drei was quick to join in on the humming and the recalling.. hahaha.. and so finally i decided to google it. it's a song by maureen ncgovern.

A Very Special Love

I never believed in love
I was deceived by love,
I never had much luck with lovers before

I could'nt compete,
I seem just part of the street
to be walked on by everyone, but then..

I found a very special love in you,
Its a feeling that's so totally new
Over and over its burning inside.
I found a very special love in you,
and it almost breaks me in two
Squeezin' me tighter
and I’m never gonna let go.

You're not like the rest,
I know you’re one of the best
you give more than you should
and take nothing in return (in return)

Stay always with me,
and I always will bethe one person that you can
count on always to love you

And I found a very special love in you,
Its a feeling that's so totally new
Over and over its burning inside,
I found a very special love in you
and it almost breaks me in two
squeezin me tighter,
And I’m never gonna let go.

must be time to find that very special love. ",)

Lifetime Love

in keeping with my easter blog theme of time for everything, allow me to post a favorite song of mine which is a real classic. it is a song by my favorite crooner, Jose Mari Chan.

A Love To Last A Lifetime

We're all just merely passing through

Doing what we can do for a lifetime

We have more than one adventure to take

More than one dream to make in our lifetime.

As for me there's only one dream

And that's to love you my love

With a love to last a lifetime

We're fools we sometimes do crazy things

And our hearts would take wings like a sparrow

But that's life, we'll take each day as it comes

Never leaving the crumbs for the morrow

As for me, all of my days I will spend them all with you

Loving you with love to last a lifetime.

If we all could leave something lasting behind

to be remembered by

Just a song for me and then at least

I would have tried

I agree, it's not so much what we have

As how we use what we have in our lifetime

Thirty years is worth a hundred and two

It's really what we can do in our lifetime

All my love i would give for as long as I may live

With a love, true love, to last a lifetime.

anytime is a time for Love.

Filipino Diaspora

just received a forwarded mail on the current situation of the country in terms of filipinos going out to seek greener pastures.

the article left me bereft of words. it's really quite sad. am i going to join the throng, too? makes me wonder...

I Wonder (The Departure)

This park and these houses, old streets I have walked
Everything dear, will it be here
One day when I am returning?

My friends will get married, have children and home
It sounds so nice, well-planned and wise
Never expecting surprises.

I wonder, it's frightening
Leaving now, is that the right thing?
I wonder, it scares me
But who the hell am I
If I don't even try
I'm not a coward
Oh no, I'll be strong
One chance in a lifetime
Yes, I will take it
It can't go wrong.

My friends and my family, this dull little town
Buses I've missed, boys that I've kissed
Everything old and familiar.

I wonder, it's frightening
Leaving now, is that the right thing?
I wonder, it scares me
But who the hell am I
If I don't leave it
I'm not a coward
Oh no, I'll be strong
One chance in a lifetime
Yes, I will take it...

Yes I will take it, it can't go wrong.

used to sing this when i was a child. am a big ABBA fan. this holds more meaning to me than what i could have thought of back then. when i left home to study high school in the capital, i looked to this song to hold me together and just embrace the future full of anticipation and hope that things will all turn out right. and they did. now i've come back to it again.
