My Project

posting here some pics of what i have been busy with these past few weeks. enrolled in some livelihood training seminars (am not employed, you see). need to earn this christmas season. hopefully this will eventually be a business with trish (thanks for the support - moral, physical and financial) and some friends.

Something for my Sweet Tooth

when i was out for a meet-up with CS friends Anna and Jayne last saturday, i chanced upon the Oct 2012 issue of Yummy and grabbed a copy of it. while Anna was flipping through the pages, i suddenly discovered a new to-go store for my baking needs. and what's more, it's just along Boni Ave which is so near where i live. i don't have to go to Quiapo or Chocolate Lovers in P. Tuazon  anymore.


i decided to go there today. i just rested a bit after having lunch and off i  went to SweetCrafts. it is just across Rizal Technological University. i have been running out on some ingredients and was glad to find them all there at the store. and the staff are nice and accomodating. also learned that some new items have arrived, especially those for halloween and christmas treats.

thankfully i got home early and went ahead to bake some. my niece arrived home from school and immediately asked what i was baking. here's what she was enjoying soon after:

Home Again

we're back in iligan for a 5-day vacation, mainly to attend this year's fiesta celebration.

a funny incident happened when we touched down at the airport in cagayan de oro. i was looking out the window when i suddenly noticed two ground crew running after something. looking ahead, i saw three more crew running. then there it was... the object of the race... a black dog scampering around in the runway. hahaha, only in the philippines!!! 

well, we're going out tonight to visit my aunty alma and mamimiyesta kami in advance.  ",)

due to a friend's request, am posting pics from the baking class i took several weeks back. really enjoyed it!

i now know how to make pizza pie crust. syempre, iyong simple lang, hindi iyong may cheesy crust or something.

look at this swedish tea ring, sobrang hindi adept ang fingers ko in all the twisting and turning. kelangan pa ng practice talaga!

ma-trabaho ang pag-gawa ng pastry dough. at wala pa akong pastry dough ruler, di ko pa ito magagawa sa ngayon. pero try ko bumili na lang muna ng dough. hahaha... shortcut, kumbaga. basta ma-practice lang muna ang pag-gawa ng croissant. at natuto na din ako gumawa ng ensaymada, sa wakas. i want to try experimenting on variants of this special ensaymada, as suggested by our mentor, especially as we have lots of green veggies and rootcrops in our farm.

for now, inuunti-unti ko pa ang mga gamit ko for baking. i have mentioned sometime before (when i was still in dubai) that i have become fond of this new hobby. medyo magastos (ehem, magastos talaga). but im so happy there's an as is where is store where i can get surplus items from gourdo's at 50% off. happy dance again!

Pups Away

When we got back home after attending the early mass, we had to clean the yard littered with dogs' poop. Those from the two guard dogs in front was one batch. Then there was still more from the three dogs and three puppies at back. Whew!!

Then it's time to feed them. Had to dash here and there because all of them like playing around a lot, especially the three pups. They would be scurrying back and forth as one would enter their domain. Haaay!  They've grown so big and can run so fast. I always run and stay in the highest area (which is the water tank) when I go out back because they always get in the way, with them scampering about.

  

Then Che-che, our nextdoor neighbor, peeped in from the wall and asked for one pup. She had already told us she'd take one of them pups. She selected the chubby one and we gave it to her and it was named Nica. Nica was bewildered at first but stayed quiet in the arms of a new master and was soon contentedly eating away when we next looked in on her.

I then had breakfast then went on to play some praise songs. Mom liked it and asked me to save the music to her usb so she can play it at the office. She was filing some papers and getting ready for work while i rushed to save the music to her usb. When i finished, i turned to give it to her and when i saw her i laughingly chided, "Mommy, don't forget to put on your blouse." To which she just smirked her characteristic "Hmmm." She always perspire so fast even with the airconditioner on. So she often just takes off her blouse when in our room. Teehee.

This evening, mom's officemate came to take one other pup. Similarly, she was very quiet looking at the new face holding her. Mom received a text message that they've reached home and Solen (new name for the pup) was very behaved.

Haay, i think i'm having separation anxiety. After the many weeks of feeding them and playing with them and holding them to keep warm during rainy days or when they fall into the small pond out back. Now, only Angela is the one left behind. Sure have to play with her more before my cousin comes to take her away.

Chocolate Temptation

for a while now, i have found myself gravitating towards the chocolate section of supermarkets and stores. i'm such a chocoholic, which is quite obvious with my size now. and i try to justify by saying "down lang ako ngayon. i need a perk-me-up."

not quite ready to give up sweets (oi, bantay abigail, may diabetes predisposition ka!), i've resolved to pursue my baking interest. self-starter na ako ngayon, kaya todo panghahagilap ng recipe ang ginagawa ko, sabay panonood ng video.
